Chemicals in Disposable Nappies?

Sodium Polyacrylate

This chemical tricks parents into thinking their baby's skin is dry and clean when it isn't.  Sodium Polyacrylate is also a major contributor to TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome)

PVC

Tri-Butyl Tin (TBT)

TBT is a Toxic chemical known to disrupt sex hormones and interfere with the human immune system

Propylene Glycol

This chemical alters skin structures and can cause eczema and dermatitis

Monobutyltin (MBT) and Dibutyltin (DBT)

Formaldehyde (HCHO)

Formaldehyde can cause allergic reactions such as rashes and eczema, it can also  trigger respiratory problems.

Chlorine (C1) and Optical Brighteners

Chlorine is a bleaching agent and Optical Brighteners can cause allergic reactions when in contact with skin that is then exposed to sunlight.

Phthalates

These can cause adverse effects on the Liver and Kidneys.

Latex

Risk of Latex sensitivity

Perfumes and Moisturisers

Certain perfumes may be capable of interfering with hormone communications in animal.  They can often cause allergies and irritation.
