The Bio-D Company has produces a range of environmentally responsible, hypoallergenic cleaning products, that do not contain many of the harmful chemcicals found in conventional equivalents.

As an independent, family-owned business, Bio-D are committed to producing safe, natural cleaning products with an emphasis on raw materials that are plant-derived, and obtained from renewable sources.
All Bio-D bottles, containers and other packaging contain effective levels of recycled material, and are themselves recyclable, being made of either paper, cardboard or HDPE plastic. HDPE can be recycled anywhere that accepts milk bottles, as it is the same grade of plastic.

In addition, Bio-D do not use any genetically modified ingredients, animal by-products or animal testing, allowing their approval by The Vegan Society, BUAV and World Wildlife Foundation.
Among the list of ingredients forbidden by Bio-D, yet found in many other household products, are: E.D.T.A, titanium dioxide, formaldehyde, chlorine bleaches, optical brighteners and synthetic dyes and perfumes.

Many of these substances are of an allergenic or toxic nature, such as chlorine bleaches, which form carcinogenic compounds when degraded. By banning these ingredients from their products, Bio-D are helping to minimise the environmental impact of domestic cleaning.
The Bio-D range for 2007 includes washing-up liquid, washing powder, fabric softener, multi-surface, toilet and glass cleaners, as well as household polish. Most of these are available in refillable containers ranging from 750 ml to 25 litres, thus offering better economy, whilst reducing the need for packaging.
